Here's to Dad's Day!
This week's idea is simple and can be used for many special day's. It's nice and simple and requires few materials. You might however have to raid the toolbox for the nuts and bolts!
Random small piece of wood
Nuts and bolts and wing nuts
Paint your board any color you like. I chose white. When dry I very lightly drew a heart shape with the pencil. This will not disappear so draw lightly! Fill your heart shape with glue. Use lots. A thick tacky glue is perfect.
Fill your shape with your assortment of nuts, bolts, nails, drill bits, wing nuts - what ever you found.
Allow to dry flat overnight. If any nuts seem loose add more glue.
When everything was dry I used a very small paintbrush and tried to get rid of the pencil outline of the heart with the paint I used for the board. It worked pretty well.
Then I used vinyl stick on letters and wrote Dad.
Instead of using nuts and bolts - use sea shells if you are at the beach. Pinecones if you are near the forest and even small pretty rocks would be fun! My Dad Rocks!
