Christmas is so close! This is the time to get that glitter out and use lots of it! You can actually seal the glitter so that it does not continue to shed everywhere. These adorable reindeer are easy to make and require only a few materieals that you may already have on hand. There is a bit of drying time so plan on doing this in a couple of stages. Drying time can be shortened considerably with the use of a hair dryer.
Stryofoam ball any size
Red pom pom
Bit of black for the eyes
Mod Poge - or white glue
Using your hot glue secure the bead sideways to the top of the styrofoam ball. This will no serve as a little handle while you are working on it and as a place to feed a yarn or string through to hang your ornament.
Brush the entire ball with Mod Poge or glue. Pour the gold glitter over the entire ball making sure all the white spots are covered with glitter. I do this process over a piece of paper so that I can pour the unused glitter back in the container. Let dry.
If there are white spots showing or you want to seal the glitter coat with another coat of Mod Podge. Glitter again if you like. The last step of this process is the Mod Poge that will dry clear to seal the glitter to the ball.
Pipecleaners! Cut your brown pipecleaner into 6 equal pieces. One at a time twist a short piece around another to form the antlers. Do this twice. Trim the branches shorter.
Add the pom pom to the ball to form the nose. Cut out 2 eyes and glue them on. Let dry!
Could make a sweet gift.
