It's almost Turkey Day! We are excited and enjoying the preparations. Who's cooking in your family? We are enjoying the colors of fall and this little craft is a great way to enjoy the a bit longer before moving into the the Christmas and winter season. So, grab your glue gun and create with us! If you do not have these materials at hand come on down to the shop and check us out. We always have plenty on hand!
Small bits of foam or construction paper
Glue gun or fast dry glue
Small amounts of assorted acrylic paint
Lay out some paper to protect your table - this could get messy!
You will need 2 jumbo Popsicle sticks and 5 regular Popsicle sticks. Lay out your 2 jumbo sticks. Cut a peicie of foam or paper to glue them to. I cut a small rectangle of paper covered it with a thin film of glue and pressed my jumbo sticks to the paper. It's enough to hold them together with out trying to apply glue to the thin long sides.
Paint your sticks! I used 5 colors for my feathers and painted my jumbo sticks brown. Let dry. Using my glue gun I glued each colored stick on top of the base of the one under it. When my stack was glued together I hot glued my body to the tail. You will now have a taller turkey. Now add your face. I used 2 googly eyes and bits of foam to form my beak and wattle. Done! Make a few and have a puppet show!
